Player Applications Open for 2019 U-24 National Teams

Colorado Springs, Colo. (July 9, 2018) – The player application window for the 2019 U-24 U.S. National Teams is now open. Any athletes who will be 23 years of age or younger on December 31, 2019, are eligible to apply. Applications are due Sunday, August 12, by 11:59 p.m. MT.

Tryout camps, one on each coast, will be held for invited applicants in early to mid-November 2018.

The U.S. has a strong history of success at the World Under-24 Ultimate Championships, sweeping all three divisions twice, first in 2013 and again early this year. The national teams came home from the 2015 edition in London with two golds and a silver. Bob Krier returns as the head coach of the men’s team for a fourth consecutive time, while Mike MacKenzie and Nancy Sun will take the reins of the mixed and women’s teams, respectively, in 2019. Both MacKenzie and Sun served as assistant coaches for the U-24 National Teams in the past and have helped lead their teams to gold medals.

The 2019 World Under-24 Ultimate Championships will be held July 13-20, in Heidelberg, Germany, and will be hosted by the World Flying Disc Federation and DISC-Respect Sports, with the support of the Heidelberg Sport and Health Office. More than 50 teams from more than 25 countries are expected to compete at the 2019 event.
