Colorado Springs, Colo. (June 23, 2017) – Interested in being an assistant coach for the 2018 U.S. World Junior Ultimate Championships (WJUC) teams? Applications are open now through July 7.
USA Ultimate is in search of elite-level coaches who will work with the National Team staff, head coaches and players to help create a winning team at WJUC 2018. Coaches should be able to help create a team and positive culture that allows not only competitive success, but also the successful representation of U.S. ultimate to the rest of the world.
Selection criteria will include:
- Coaching experience
- Ability and willingness to work with USA Ultimate staff
- Ability to work with players in the under-20 age group
- Experience with international competition
Assistant coaches will be selected by the USA Ultimate Coaching Committee, USA Ultimate staff and the 2018 U-20 National Team head coaches. As was announced yesterday, DeAnna Ball will lead the women’s team, with Sam O’Brien taking the reins of the men’s team.
The 2018 World Junior Ultimate Championships will be held August 19-25, outside Toronto in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. The event will be hosted by the World Flying Disc Federation with members of Ultimate Canada and Ontario Ultimate serving on the tournament organizing committee.
