I’m Claire. My teammates call me Dezi. I love sunsets, bridges, coffee ice cream, Beyonce, hoppy beer, sunrises, Baroque sculpture, blueberries and trail running. Oh and of course – ultimate!
I grew up in sunny southern California then moved up to Bay Area in 2008 to attend the University of California-Berkeley, where I started playing ultimate during my freshman year. I was introduced to the colorful Bay Area ultimate community by a friend in my dorm and was immediately hooked!
At Cal, I studied both Human Biology and Art History, which I found to be a wonderful synergy of art and science. I am currently studying to become a Physician Assistant with the hopes of practicing in internal or orthopedic medicine. I think the human body is pretty freaking cool.
I am extremely excited and honored to be a part of this amazing squad…it’s going to be a wild ride!
Fun Facts about Claire:
- I am very gullible and have a hard time understanding sarcasm (a lot of my teammates take advantage of this).
- I have broken my arm three times (was a little reckless as a child).
- I played Peter in my fifth-grade production of Peter Pan (it was a truly inspiring performance).
