Applications Open for U-24 Mixed National Team Head Coach

Colorado Springs, Colo. (Dec. 19, 2019) – USA Ultimate, the national governing body for the sport of ultimate in the United States, announced today that applications are open for head coach of the U.S. U-24 Mixed National Team.

Qualified applicants will have demonstrated a strong commitment to character and Spirit of the Game. Applicants will be evaluated on criteria including ultimate coaching experience, building a positive team culture, player development, competitive excellence, experience in international competition and more.

Applications are open through January 22, 2020.

Bob Krier and Nancy Sun will return to their roles as head coaches of the Men’s and Women’s National Teams, respectively, for the 2021 cycle. Dates and the location of the World Flying Disc Federation’s 2021 World Under-24 Ultimate Championships have not yet been announced.

Announced in spring 2018, the selection process for National Team head coaches was modified, in part based on input from other national governing bodies of sport. Head coaches from the most recent cycle are now reviewed by a panel that includes previous national team coaches and USA Ultimate staff. Player feedback from the relevant cycle are also included whenever possible. The panel evaluates head coaches with the understanding that if they are the right coach, they will be offered the opportunity to return for the next cycle, helping build consistency in team culture.
