Colorado Springs, Colo. (Dec. 9, 2019) – USA Ultimate, the national governing body for the sport of ultimate in the United States, is excited to announce the athletes who have been invited to attend one of two tryouts for the 2020 National Teams that will compete at the World Ultimate and Guts Championships. USA Ultimate will send teams in the men’s, mixed and women’s divisions to Leeuwarden, Netherlands, next July.
More than 600 athletes from all over the country applied to be considered for the 2020 National Teams. From those applicants, coaches have selected 104 men and 104 women to attend the tryout camps.
The west coast tryout camp will be held February 8-9, in Santa Clarita, Calif. The east coast tryout camp will be held two weeks later, February 22-23, in Orlando, Fla.

The 2020 World Ultimate and Guts Championships, hosted by the World Flying Disc Federation, will be held July 11-18, in Leeuwarden, Netherlands.
WUGC is held every four years and was last contested in London, United Kingdom, in 2016. The event marked the first time the U.S. sent select National Teams, rather than the defending national champions in the club division. All three teams won gold in 2016, a sweep for the United States. The 2016 event also included the men’s and women’s masters divisions, unlike the upcoming 2020 edition, both of which were also gold-medal wins for the United States.
