June 19, 2017 – The World Flying Disc Federation’s 2017 World Championships of Beach Ultimate (WCBU) are underway in Royan, France! Seven teams are representing the U.S. in France, one in each competition division at the championships: men’s, mixed, women’s, men’s masters, mixed masters, women’s masters and grand masters.

After day two of play, the U.S. has combined for a record of 28-0 across all seven teams. The U.S. women’s team survived a scare against Denmark, mounting a comeback in their last game of day two to win on double-game point and keep a perfect record. The next closest game was a 12-9 victory for the U.S. mixed team against Italy in their first game of the tournament yesterday morning. Italy tied up the score as late as 8-8 before the U.S. was able to pull away for the three-point win.

Competition continues in the pool play rounds for all seven U.S. teams tomorrow morning, beginning at 9:00 a.m. local time, 3:00 a.m. ET.
